A research group led by CEO Shinji Fukuda, who also serves as Project Professor at the IAB, Keio University, together with Visiting Researcher Chiharu Ishii (first author), has revealed that, unless dietary habits deviate significantly from an individual’s usual intake, the composition of the gut microbiome and metabolites remains highly individualized and stable, regardless of day-to-day dietary variations.
This finding is based on a longitudinal study involving 25 healthy Japanese participants, demonstrating that both gut microbiome and metabolite profiles are consistently maintained at the individual level, independent of differences in daily diet.
